February 2001 - Photo Blog

A collection of images from my daily work presented in roughly chronological order.

Columbus Police Sgt. Steve Walter bows his head during a prayer at the Avondale Elementary School Thursday night February 1, 2001 during a memorial honoring Franklinton Fire Victims. Walter, although he does not currently live in the area, grew up in the area and claim his family moved to Franklinton in 1886. His mother lived in the same house in Franklinton for 72 years. Walter is also the 3rd shift Sgt. for the area. He says the area is very special to him and would not have missed the memorial. Other events held at the school after the memorial were a number of workshops on fire safety and and the giving away of smoke alarms for area residents.
